Education-
Matt graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training & Exercise Science from
Ithaca College, and earned his M.A. in Health Education and Promotion from Lehman
College. Since graduating with his Masters degree Matt has continued his education by
attending hundreds of hours of professional development seminars and workshops.

Professional Experience- As a Certified Athletic Training / Strength and Conditioning
Coach: His professional experience includes 13 years of directing community outreach
programs to high schools throughout Westchester County. With 15 years of certified
athletic training / strength and conditioning experience, Matt has worked with thousands
of athletes of all abilities at the professional, Olympic, collegiate, and high school levels.
Matt has extensive experience working with individuals that have orthopedic, metabolic
and lifestyle related health issues such as cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's, diabetes
and brain injuries. Matt served as the Head Athletic Trainer / Strength and Conditioning
Coach for the Rye City School District from 2001-2009. Prior to working at Rye High
School Matt served five years as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the New
Rochelle City School District. During his tenure as a Certified Athletic Trainer &
Strength and Conditioning Coach, Matt has played a major role in the winning of four
state football championships, three state field hockey championships, and five state semifinal
appearances in both boys & girls lacrosse. Athletes under his care and training
have continued their athletic careers at schools such as Rutgers, The US Naval Academy,
Cornell, Princeton, Syracuse, Johns Hopkins, Colgate, Duke, Ohio State, University of
Rhode Island, and Villinova.


As a Presenter / Course Instructor- Matt is the former regional director for the World
Instructor Training School, a prominent fitness certification organization where he was
responsible for instructing fitness certification courses throughout the tri-state area. Matt
has taught a wide variety of professional development workshops and continuing
education courses for the Rye Sound Shore Consortium, the Southern Westchester Boces
Consortium as well as presented in many other Westchester County High Schools. In
Addition Matt has given numerous lectures on topics such as developing the complete
athlete, speed/agility/quickness training, ACL injury prevention training to thousands of
coaches, parents and athletes around the country.


Awards & Recognitions- In 2006 Matt was awarded The Home Town Media’s Sports
Inspiration of the Year. In 2010 Matt was one of four honorees by the Rye Youth Council
for service in the community. Matt has been featured in numerous newspaper articles
including The Journal News, The Rye Record, The Rye Sound Shore review and The
Sound & Town Report.


Certifications- He holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the National
Athletic Trainers Association (NYS licensed), a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and as a Health and
Fitness Instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine.
